Bookends

The Shape of Things to Come.JPG

“THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME”

 $150

Unbelievable neon-yellow and grey/blue snakeskin heels reminiscent of ‘30s “futurism” adorn this truly unique pair of deco-like bookends.

LeatherandLace.jpg

“LEATHER AND LACE”

$150

A pair of rather sturdy-looking high heel boots anchors a no-nonsense pair of bookends.  But looks can be deceiving.  Look again!  Aren’t those boots covered with black lace?  What goes on here?

WildandWonderful.jpg

“WILD AND WONDERFUL”

$150

A dangerously “animal” pair of bookends… painted blood-red and black and trimmed with faux leopard skin.  The shoes are a carnivorous combination of shiny black patent leather, leopard skin, and red patent leather super heels.  Are your books brave enough for this one?

Tokyo Tigers.JPG

“TOKYO TIGERS”

$150

Vintage wooden geta sporting boys playing baseball—a tradition in Japan—set the theme for these one-of-a-kind bookends. Undeterred by customary decorum, the young “Tigers” send balls flying…over Mt. Fuji and an historic lakeside castle.

Who's Your Bookie, Biker.JPG

“WHO’S YOUR BOOKIE, BIKER?”

$150

Bold, biker-like bookends [14 inches tall, 11 inches long, 9.5 inches wide (36 x 28 x 24 cm)] hold the wildest-ever stiletto platforms…leather, studs, and all.  Not for the faint of heart.

"A JAPANESE BOYHOOD"

$150

This pair of bookends is based on traditional themes of boyhood in Japan where tops and kites were the most popular toys for decades.  The piece includes tops purchased by the artist on a trip to Japan along with a restored pair of vintage boy's getas (wooden sandals) decorated with typical cartoon-like figures of boys spinning tops.

Babe'sBooties.jpg

“BABE’S BOOTIES”

$150

This deceptively simple-looking pair of pale pink leather and lace boots is not quite as innocent as it looks at first glance.  A set  of bookends for the lady who doesn’t always act like one.

“HARLEQUIN ROMANCES”

$180

Straight from Carnival comes this set of Harlequin bookends each featuring black-and-white pointed “diamond” stilettoes and adorable bisque Pierrot figurines.  One pair of revelers is deep in conversation while the other contemplates his black-and-white puppy.  The entire piece reproduces the coloring of the figurines themselves.

“ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH”

$150

Multi-zippered open-toe heels against a background of zipper pulls.  All done in the simplest, but most elegant, gold and black.  For the zipper-enthusiast, these are the ultimate bookends!

“WISDOM OF WOOD”

$175

For the lover of wood grain comes this gorgeous pair of “heel-less” heels duplicating exactly natural wood grain.  These shoes are unquestionably “wearable sculpture”…more art than clothing.  But still serviceable as bookends.

“BUCKLE UP”

$150

Super tall rich blue suede and tan leather wedges will appeal to those of us “needing closure” in our bookends. This quirky piece is ornamented with vintage faux wooden buttons and buckles and is covered with matching “suede-like” blue paint and “leather.”

“SCHEHERAZADE”

$150

Inspired by “A Thousand and One Nights” and direct from the hareem of the Sultan comes a pair of bookends reminiscent of the opulent court of ancient Persia.  Scheherazade herself would have loved these rich blue suede stilettoes ornamented with peacock-feather motif.  The base itself is splattered with fabulous “gems” perhaps dropped when Sinbad hastily retreated to his Cave upon hearing the master’s footsteps.

“SEEING SPOTS"

$150

An adorably “dotty” pair of book ends featuring amazing polka dot laced stiletto boots sitting on a matched pair of bases.  Look too long and you’ll start seeing spots.
