"Tableaux" and "Assemblages"
“GREED”
$200
A sculpture emblematic of what’s wrong with the world. A blood-red base (18 in diameter) is surrounded by “keep-out, it’s mine!” barbed wire. Atop a mess of coins, bills, and shards of dangerous looking glass sit the ultimate objects of desire…shiny golden platform heels. Greedy hands…already bearing the weight of too much bling...reach for still more.
“ASSEMBLAGE IN RED”
$275
This striking moderne three-tiered table (3 ft. tall) is beloved by the “Red” Patent-Leather family because it displays not only two pairs of shoes worn by “the girls” before they married but also a tiny pair of the first granddaughter’s Mary Janes. A deco-like picture frame holds a nostalgic photo of Grandma and Grandpa sitting together as usual on their divan, an heirloom that now resides in Aunt Carmine’s parlor. On the top tier of the table a wooden vase holds everyone’s favorite flowers (which can be removed to be replaced by fresh ones) provided they are red and shiny.
“MISS JONES, COME INTO MY OFFICE”
$275
A “secretarial” assemblage that would be familiar to all the old film secretaries like Rosalind Russell or Bette Davis. A vintage oak phone stand holds the tools of the trade…Rolodex, lipstick-stained cigarette, period lead pencil, and office writing pad complete with shorthand notes. On the top tier rest a pair of business-like glasses, office-appropriate heels, and a rose in a glass vase. Perhaps the “boss” would like more from Miss Jones than good typing skills.
“TROPICAL TREE HOUSE”
$170
A unique Victorian rattan bird cage [approx. 23 inches tall, 13 inches in diameter (58 cm x 33 cm)] holds a pair of bright “parrot” platform wedges hiding among tropical foliage while other parrots who have “flown the coop” watch. Comes with a an incredible “parrot” salt-and-pepper set as well as a matching wooden “parrot” candle holder.
“PARROT PARADISE”
$170
Vintage bamboo Asian birdcage [approx. 18 inches tall, 17 inches wide, 16 inches deep (46 by 43 by 41 cm)] shaped like a pagoda. Two bright parrots painted onto wooden “go-aheads” from Vietnam swing away while a colorful feathered bird watches the action. Can be hung from the ceiling because it has a sturdy ring on top.
"BACK HOME IN KANSAS"
$170
A tableau perfect for a young girl's room. A pair of lace-up boots, a teddy bear, an old-fashioned straw hat, and an adorable vintage book (Six Little Princesses) rest on an antique oak child's rocking chair, complete with embossing and leather seat. Actually, a "girl" of any age would love this sentimental tribute to more innocent times.
"MANHATTAN TOWERS"
$400
The shelves of these two undulating stand-alone "towers" (approx. 55" tall, 6" deep, 10" wide) are covered with black granite and topped with stunning black heels, except for that one shelf that dares to be different.
"PRETTY IN PINK"
$170
This pedestal table [approx. 50" (107 cm) tall] is ombre-painted in glittery hot pink, topped with white granite, and trimmed in pink frou-frou. On it sits the most feminine pair of silk-covered heels ever made. A delight for "princesses" of any age!
"IN A TUSCAN GARDEN"
$170
Nine small wine-colored glass snifters designed to hold small tea candles sit atop a vintage wrought iron stand (approx. 39" tall, 15" x 15" at its widest). The shoulders of the table are festooned with lifelike clusters of grapes and painted grape leaves. Beneath the candles hangs the most incredible pair of green stiletto boots...lavishly embroidered to suggest trailing vines. This piece will MAKE your patio!
